Playing Secret Santa is usually a win-win situation, but not everyone is so lucky. Some people received tomato sauces for pasta or money to buy their own gift, and others dared to gift items wrapped in duct tape or pranks with a bow. That’s what several users shared to expose the terrible gifts they gave or received during a Christmas bout of Secret Santa.

1. “Everybody keeps saying it’s the thought that counts, so because I’m on a tight budget, my giftee’s package is being sent out today wrapped entirely in his favorite color duct tape. I hope he likes it as much as I do.”
2. “This is my first time participating in a Secret Santa exchange and had I no idea what to expect. My SS completely blew my mind, and these treats will surely be gone in 60 seconds!”
